About

Here’s the December 29, 2010 entry for this fine ‘about’ page. Like the others the sentiment remains the same. It started as a group project and for better or worse it has morphed into a solo act. I’ve been solo in this effort for some time now.

There’s more going on behind the scenes than that reflected in the content of this website. The mission of this site has not changed. ‘To build consensus on issues’ as the blog slogan states is still the goal. Make no mistake, this is a site driven by conservative principles.

Since the first incarnation of MoreWhat.com the mission has remained the same. However, the experiment to be all things to all people has been abandoned. That idea was not so much an attempt to sway public opinion as a method for measuring the willingness of ordinary Americans to return to the ideals of our nation’s founding.

Go figure, when this project started in 2006 it was not uncommon for conservative talkers like Rush Limbaugh to characterize ‘independents’ as closet liberals. Independent was the theme of this site at the time and still is. The only thing that changed was the political fortunes of our nation’s two major political parties. And this site’s sole contributor and ‘admin’ defined the changes as they happened. There is a tendency here to favor the GOP as of this writing and for some time since 2006. But the GOP’s fall from grace prior to the 2006 miterms chronicles a departure from conservative principles. And it documents the reason to remain ‘independent’.

That’s it in a ‘nutshell’. I’m an independent. Currently, I lean toward the GOP. And the reasoning for that is obvious. As long as they are the only game in town promoting conservative principles the leaning will not change. As soon as, or when, they sell out that leaning will be revised. And yes, the tea party sentiment is supported here.

In other words, I would prefer voting for a hardcore liberal than a RINO Republican simply because that failure should not be rewarded. If that bothers you, FO. I won’t change my values for any POL or political wannabe.

It is now August 2010. This blog is under construction. The text below is a copy of what is on the archived site. An update will come later.

December 26, 2007….

Welcome to the Blog @ MoreWhat.com and thanks for taking a look at this fine ‘about page. The primary focus of this blog is public affairs. Politics in the United States dominate the posts as of this writing. International topics are published if there is an obvious connection to the US but sometimes just for fun or general interest. Other topics are covered as the need arises or to offer a little variety.

MoreWhat.com is the domain. The main site address offers a variety of news, articles, news feeds and other content not limited to public affairs and politics. You are of course encouraged to look around and interact if the notion strikes. The blog and the forum or ‘board’ accept user input of some kind and the typical safeguards in place should not be much of an inconvenience. For obvious reasons some precautions have been employed. But posting comments on the blog or topics and replies on the board are easy so knock yourself out.

All viewpoints are accepted here as long as some basic etiquette is applied. In other words, you don’t have to agree with the site owner but have some class if you want to rant. Comments have rarely been removed and then only because the language was over the top. The ‘f’ word will guarantee the comment, etc., won’t survive for long here. You can even insult the site owner as long as the content is ‘g’ rated. That’s not being PC just keeping the content tame enough for visitors of all ages, etc. As a matter of fact the site owner finds the insults quite entertaining.

This was a rambling, ad hoc, ad lib, first draft at a replacement ‘about’ page. I was just tired of the last one. It is left here below this edition for no good reason. It sucks but then in a short time that will be my opinion of this one. I’m not sure the default ‘about’ page should be used at all but here it is.
