[...] The reason Kennedy’s opinion matters is because we had a Congress which flew under the radar, refused Republican participation in the ObamaCare legislation, and were willing to go to any length to pass a bill they believed would gain them undying support at the polls. November of 2010 showed how false that was, and droves of Democrats went home to stay. A Congress adhering to its oath of office would never have passed ObamaCare, the unaffordable Patient Care Act. It’s a very sad time in America’s history. Very interesting – Senator Mike Lee gives a great explanation of exactly what happens at a Sup... [...]

It'll still work on a great many people. It's in print after all isn't it?

Nobody is non-partisan. Everybody has an agenda. Sadly too many people will only look for the things that support their own arguments or they'll drink whatever kool-ade people are serving for their own party of choice.

As for the policy/economic arguments - when 49% of the people get more from government than they give we're awfully close to the tipping point - if not already over it considering the percentage of people that actually think before they vote.

The short version exposes the Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell Senate as impotent. 14 roll call votes since the beginning of their second session in late January and all they have to show for it is the confirmation of a federal judge, a failed resolution and a useless bill that will do nothing.

I don't always hit all the points in a post that I should. So occasionally I use the comment feature to provide updates or additions or corrections.

Those who tug at the heartstrings of sympathetic Americans casting illegal immigrants as simply those seeking a better life or something similar ignore a simple fact. A sovereign nation and civil society cannot survive without th rule of law. Those who violate the law and are subsequently held to account for their illegal actions must suffer the consequences.

On the topic of illegal immigration and the rule of law to suggest that those who enter the United States illegally should be afforded amnesty for themselves, their children and their extended families renders the rule of law impotent. moving America toward the lawless society that will signal its demise.

You may view that as a melodramatic characterization of the facts but one thing is clear. A sovereign nation without the rule of law is not a sovereign nation at all. Faiilure to provide national defense, security and border control subjects this same sovereign nation to all the threats from those who intend to do it harm.

This may be the shortest rant I've ever posted.

The Badgers blew it again. They lost two Rose Bowl's in a row. Funny, they stopped airing Badger sports on local broadcast stations before these two Rose Bowl trips. I watched the others when they were available. They won. I didn't watch the last two cuz they were not available on local stations. They lost. Hmmm. I wonder.
