    Hey - I can’t get a trackback to work over here :(

I say string them up! No - not really. A hefty fine. A big enough fine that they will notice it.

Thanks for the heads up. Thought that was a low turnout for an open trackback. Haven’t seen any problems on site. Will update this comment when we know something.

  3. Maggie M. Thornton Says:

I can go with the fine so long as it is very hefty - structured, perhaps, by gross income as shown on a tax return (not net) - a certain percentage, maybe - and one strike, and then…gosh I don’t have a clue.

If we go with the tax return percentage, then we are creating a whole new bureacracy.

Whatever it is, it needs to hurt. I hope someone can figure this out. What’s your opinion?

People choose to be illegal immigrants. Employers choose to hire illegal immigrants. Employers choose to move jobs offshore. If people are not able to select the honorable choice on their own, then the penalties for selecting the improper choice must be severe enough to render that choice moot. Meaning, if you choose to do the wrong thing, your life will be worse than it was before you made the selection.
Some companies have forgotten their responsibility to the very country and people that are a component of their success. Those who choose to ignore the rules and enter this country illegally cannot propose an excuse that justifies their action.
In either case, the improper actions were taken for a selfish reason and it harms others in the process. Shifting blame to others only compounds the offenses. Raise the price of cheating until it is no longer an affordable option.

    Update on trackback problem:
Have reviewed settings, checked spam filters, etc., and tested, etc., etc. and found no cause for the loss of trackback capability. Everything is set as before the problem and been checked again. The last successful trackback was April 22, 252pm UTC. Will continue searching for problem and express our apologies for the inconvenience. Maybe we were hacked, who knows?
And this happens on a day when we experienced are highest recorded traffic. Go figure.
There will be no further updates until the problem is resolved.

Well wadya know, a trackback gets posted. Could it be that my outrageous rant and completely serious retaliatory campaign threat to server admin caused this to happen? I don’t know but it is the first trackback that has gotten posted since I contacted someone not long ago. Hmmm, my conspiracy theory gains credibility. Consider this my update on the trackback posting problem of suspicious origin.
