Lighten up? What does that mean?
Sorry I thought you were a consensus builder.

Just to let you know, I'm an Independent from New Hampshire but I wouldn't vote for a Republican these days if you paid me. Our motto is, "Live FREE or die."

New Hampshire, my historically conservative state, went bright blue in 2006, because we don't think Republicans know how to govern anymore. I can pretty much guarantee John Sununu won't be back to the Senate. You'll have to speak for your own Senator's chances in 2008.

As far as you guessing that Democrats and Indpendents will be holding Congressional Democrats accountable in 2008? I'm guessing not.

Best!

FedUp:
Thanks for stoppin' by. It is not as easy as it once was to measure Congressional politics. I have seen no reports of a clogged phone system in Congress on this issue. We need to make more calls. I admit I haven't had time this week.

Jan:
Thanks for stopping by. Thanks for making the assumption that the phrase ' to build consensus on issues ' is a claim. But even if was a claim, consider that when I wrote this there were two comments; one in agreement and one not.
The majority holds the political advantage and assumes the responsibility of that role. The Republican majority before Nov 2006 had a higher approval rating.
Yes on the 21 and 12 and there have been posts here to document it. No on the $$ and did you consider that the 70% is not unanimous on 'how' they want out. It may surprise you that I have no party affiliation. I have voted for candidates from both parties. I currently disagree with the Democrats agenda and or platform on nearly every issue. Not that you care, but I am less likely to vote for a Democrat than a Republican and other party candidates are either not viable or I disagree with their positions though that could change.
So Jan, lighten up. Apparently the first paragraph of the post was successful. And you read the rest of it.

This webiste claims to build consensus?

And, seriously, are you quoting a poll about "Congress" and indicating that it only has to do with Democrats? Maybe before you get too elated, you should consider looking inside the numbers on some of the "Congress" polls.

Gosh, I think you're in for a rude awakening next November.
Do you know that Republicans have 21 out of 49 Senate seats to defend in 2008?
Do you know that Democrats only have 12 to defend in 2008?
Do you know the Republican Senate Relection Committee only has half as much money as its Democratic counterpart?

As long as you are going to quote polls, do you know that about 70% of the American people want us out of Iraq?

And do you really believe those Democrats and Independents are going to be voting for a Republican Senator in 2008?
