Radidan Times:
That was my understanding (his record in NM). And it should have been a plus that he held other positions related to the task. But the issue positions and aligning with far left voters throws him right in with the typical candidates. Too bad, he could have been a breakout Democrat and remove some of the party stigma. But nooooo. :-)

Both of ya., thanks for stoppin' by.

Stephen Fox:
I am missing the point??
He publicly, as the other Dem. candidates, opposes the ban on partial birth abortions and the decision by the SCOTUS in Gonzales v Carhart.
He publicly favors amnesty by expressing illegals only need to pay fines and promise to obey the law to receive a path to citizenship. Sorry, that is just not right.
He wants to withdraw from Iraq by the end of the year. An arbitrary date is simply irresponsible.
I see no indication on his other positions as being anything but far left.
Hence my reason for the title of the post.

"If you don't mind crushing the skulls of babies, Richardson is your guy"? How preposterous. Respectfully, you are missing the point entirely, big time....I have known Richardson personally for 30 years. He is precisely the best candidate for rebuilding the tattered USA image after six years of corporate-manipulated Halliburton-driven fiscal kleptocracy, if that is even going to be possible. The implications for the US domestic economy are dire, and to pursue a continuing course of exacerbating and inflaming every Muslim in the world from Morocco to Indonesia, as Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney seem to delight in doing, just makes matters worse. African nations and South American nations are looking again to Russia and China to trade with and sell their raw materials to, rather than the USA's plutocracy, since neither of these nations is indulging in grudge politics nor severe political repression as we are doing in Iraq. Richardson is the sanest candidate when he calls for immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. You may not agree with this right away, but think about it, and you may come around. Its OK to be vicious on the web with your own blog comments, I guess: it is just that yours are so ILLOGICAL and ILL FOUNDED, I am moved to respond with some glimmer of truth and accuracy.

You are right. Richardson is just another liberal. What sets him apart is his success as a governor of New Mexico as well as his vast experience as a former cabinet member and his international diplomatic experience, which the other Democratic candidates sorely lack.

Here in New Mexico he has cut taxes and been very pro-business. This has improved living circumstances immensely. I live in one of the cities that is experiencing tremendous growth and a rise in the standard of living (although, admittedly, vast poverty exists south of us due to the swell of illegal immigration.)

I am not a Democrat, but if my values were in agreement with theirs, I would consider Richardson the most qualified candidate of all in the field. Here's hoping Hillary's skeletons come out of the closet to haunt her, and that Obama's charm is a thin veil revealing his shocking lack of experience and extreme views.
