Could the Dems Face a Brokered Convention?
What keeps Barack Obama up nights? Is it the news reporting about Rev Wright or his wife’s comments on America? Is it shady real estate deals or his lack of a resume’? Is it the conspiracy to connect him to Islam? Or is it about some sordid item in his history yet uncovered? Well, look what is happening or not yet happening to former candidate John Edwards. It could happen.
No, what keeps Barack Obama up nights is Hillary Clinton. While it may not be a big surprise, the references to reports below suggest the Clinton machine may not be ready to quit yet. A convention floor vote for the nomination would be a back breaker for the Democratic party no matter what the result would be. Early in the Clinton campaign Mark Penn was credited for her centrist strategy and we saw how that worked out. And there is news of an open letter to Obama requesting him to return to the far left agenda of organizations like MoveOn and the like. Since the surge was successful in Iraq the far left has been relatively quiet. But according to report titles like ‘Clinton backers to march during the convention’ and the stories about being heard, etc., the far left may be holding back until the convention.
With no sustained bounce for Obama after his ‘world tour’ and the polls showing a statistical tie for the election, perhaps John McCain can take a vacation while the Democratic party does his work for him. Between now and November their may be a seismic event for the Dems…. the party may implode.

One can only hope that the Democratic Party does implode. I’m not going to count on it though.
Nancy Pelosi’s hypocrisy regarding drilling and the “need” for members of her party to win re-election stand out to me as proof that it’s all about power for the Democratic Party. They’re not going to let their convention stand in the way of their power.

Reid, Pelosi, Obama, Clinton, Dean and Edwards as well as other ‘prominent’ Democrats embrace the far left and their surrender mentality. It appears the far left has gone underground again after being embarrassed by the US military. The surge worked and the fully invested terrorist appeasers tried to look centrist for their next act.
The economy became the central theme and the Dems are lost in space. So they try to develop Obama the rock star, avoid solving problems and market their tired old slogans of hope and change without substance.
Thanks for stoppin’ in Perri

Obviously … Obama checked with all the delegates behind the scenes to make sure they were still committed to him, before finally coming forward to appear magnanimous, by agreeing to allow a floor vote at the convention. Just another disingenuous P.R. move by Obama. If he had exhibited his commitment to democracy when it really counted, I’d be impressed … like when he could have supported a revote in Florida and Michigan … instead of blocking the effort. Obama is all about appearances. He will say, or do anything to win.
