Debating Barack Obama’s cash flow

Sen Barack ObamaNo candidate is accepting public funds so they can have no cap fund raising. If it takes 100 million to fund a successful campaign, all the tricks for acquiring money are likely being used, ethical, legal or not. Obama has avoided damage from early attempts to derail his campaign. But maybe the money issue will turn the trend in the other direction. If you take money from sources who match some of your position statements there are two problems. Either the position is flawed and your lying about it to gain the campaign funds. Or it is a legitimate position and you will reduce its credibility when you take funds from people who would benefit from your position. Not to mention it is the longest standing tradition in politics….it’s all about money. So why do we continue the charade? Take the money out of it. Here comes the political reality lie to answer a call for real campaign reform.

A recent editorial in The Chicago Sun-Times, published on May 14, attempted to defile an essay I wrote about Barack Obama’s fundraising channels and his ties to corporate America. The Sun-Times piece, written by former Clinton White House counsel Abner J. Mikva, challenged my claim that Barack isn’t taking on the pay-to-play politics we are all so used to in Washington. Instead Mikva asserted that the ethically minded Obama is “incorruptible.”
