Dems PAC Attack Targets Hillary Rodham Clinton
Unless some politically sinister conspiracy theory emerges and is proved beyond more than a reasonable doubt, there is a liberal attack coming for Hillary Rodham Clinton in media buys for the early states that cannot be attributed to conservatives. The only annoying aspect of this forthcoming anti-Hillary campaign so far is the leader of the PAC states he is not a Hillary hater for doing this. This blog is accused of being a Hillary hater quite often for also rejecting HRC as a Presidential candidate. Let’s see if this PAC, Democratic Courage, receives the Hillary hater accusation.
First Negative Ad Against Clinton
Besides Hurowitz, Sam Goldman, Secretary and co-founder and David Lipowicz, Treasurer and co-founder are described as liberal activists or connected to the Edwards campaign yet claim no candidate is endorsed and that they would support HRC if nominated but are spending money on media buys of negative ads in the early states. This information was derived from a tiny bit of information at source watch and an October article from Politico. Since the PAC may have only surfaced in 2007 it is not surprising some resources have little to offer.
How much sense does that make? You are running a negative ad or series of ads against the Dems front runner, claim that while you oppose her on a ‘conviction’ basis you will support her if she is nominated. Does the left hand know what the left hand is doing? HRC’s lead, as that of several other candidates on both sides , is eroding as the first voting opportunities approach. Even if they deny it, Democratic Courage and two of the co-founders being previously connected to the Edwards’ campaign raises suspicion of the PAC’s honesty. But then this is American politics.
A Huff Po account of the PAC Democratic Courage indicates it was formed a week ago. The content of the following excerpt echoes what was seen elsewhere. And it raises some questions.

Welcome to the campaign, Sen. Obama

And they have no problem drawing distinctions with Clinton:
While the Huff Po piece is largely about the perceived failings of the Obama campaign, the part about the PAC and its underlying message that Democrats should display courage of conviction may be at the heart of the matter. While many reports and stories about Clinton and Obama focus on race and gender votes and polling, little is mentioned about what the candidates stand for beyond both claiming to have the experience, Obama adding the change agent description and the Clinton claim of being the only Dems candidate able to defeat the GOP. Beyond adhering to the left’s call for surrender in Iraq and promising large sums of public money for votes, what have these candidates offered the public that will benefit this nation?
Someone must be listening to Obama as he is statistically even with Clinton in Iowa and perhaps other early states as well. Could these negative ads from Democratic Courage PAC be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for Hillary Rodham Clinton in the first voting a month away? The situation also lends support to the notion the Democratic party has lost focus, unity and any coherent strategy for leadership as demonstrated in Congress since they won the majority in the 2006 midterms. Criticize or complain about this post all you want but it is difficult to produce a convincing argument to the contrary things being what they are. You can also complain that the GOP with the White House and the members in Congress have provided an insurmountable obstacle to the Democratic majority. But the reverse was not a problem for the GOP majority from 1994 to 2000.
Finally, here’s an excerpt that expresses a similar take on the Dems:

Post update:
There are records for a registered lobbyist by the name of Glenn Hurowitz at the Senate’s lobby disclosure website connected to US PIRG, which makes sense given the available information on the PAC Democratic Courage.
If readers have other information on this group or these individuals, feel free to share.

Iowans are immune to this. This thing is way too close to call but Stu Rothenburg who is no dummy quoted what he described as a very astute democrat in the state who reminded him that the predominant IA caucus goers are middle aged and elderly women sometimes with their husbands in tow. Who are they going to vote for. At the end of the day and despite all huffing and puffing, and Obama’s efforts to bus in students to vote, I suspect she’ll pull it out and IA and it will be all over. However, even if she comes a close second it won’t make much difference because she’ll win just about everything over the following fifty days. That’s her unique strategic advantage which the press for whatever reason are not really acknowledging. The idea that Obama is magically transformed into the winner in CA or FL by a win in IA is fanciful at best.

My take on all of this is the following:
Progressives such as Hillary, Obama and the like can’t be honest about their convictions; if they were a large part of the american people would be turned off. Progressives in my opinion find it very easy to lie to achieve power. Honesty is not their strongest suit.
Hillary try to stay in the middle to fool people, and it seems odd that now criticism comes forward, although Bill Clinton was doing that all along, govern by polls only.
There is no conviction, liberalsm is an illness, and would never be tolerated by the american people, for that reason alone, truth can’t emerge in these campaigns.

All true Democrats should by now be tired of nominating established candidates who appear to be well financed and smooth talkers, but whose prevarications always lead to defeat in the hands of the Republicans. Undoubtedly, no such candidate epitomizes that flawed character than HRC. The earlier Democratic voters realize that HRM has no chance of beating any Republican candidate in the next year’s presidential election the better it is for the parity’s chances.
The Democratic Party should be worry of the ringing endorsements of HRC’s candidacy by some Republican Party leaders and strategists. This is a clear pointer that they prefer to face her in a general election because they have her number.
Equally, the Democratic Party establishment should consider the angst of the citizens on the likelihood of two families controlling the affairs of this great nation for twenty-eight years. This issue is of utmost concern to voters. But the Democratic establishment would like to consider it as a non-issue. I say emphatically that this issue though latent is a potent force that has the potential to derail HRC’s presidential ambition. If the party establishment ignores this for the sake of political expediency; they will again regret their decision to stick with another established candidate with lots of baggage.

Marina says “Hillary will pull this off, she’s smart, calm, and calculated’!
This statement is true, and says it all ‘calculated’!
You must be living in the land of Oz.
If what you want as a leader is ‘calculated’, then you too are void of substance, which is the problem with the democratic party. They talk, and talk, but don’t walk the walk.
