Dems Say Obama is Vulnerable

The first reference below is from a writer at the NYT. Amid the criticism that the MSM is pro-Obama and biased it is interesting that this article presents concerns by a covey of liberals that the Dems Presidential hopeful is flawed. Okay, the piece describes it as vulnerable…..same thing. If you are vulnerable in an election you are flawed.

And then their is the more interesting reference at the bottom of this post. About the video that was the subject of a reporter’s inquiry, Obama says there never was one and it has never materialized. Does that mean there never was one or simply that it has vanished? The current criticism of stories about Obama that do not flatter him focuses on two books, one by Corsi and the other by Freddoso. Corsi’s is on the NYT best seller list. It has been described by some as fiction and the author clearly states his intent to defeat Obama’s election bid. The previous non-flattering Obama content was primarily loaded on the internet. Among other things his ties to Islam were one such claim.

This reminds me of the smear tactics used agaist Romney in the primaries. Everyone said that is too bad and moved on. So Mr Obama, toughen up, take it like a man. Only one thing keeps me wondering about the wild claims. If something that is not complimentary is said about someone we’re supposed to give the benefit of the doubt and not obsess about it. And all, in this case, a candidate should only have to do is deny it and everything is alright. Well, it’s not. So Mr Obama, could you spend a little more time explaining your personal history.

Democratic leaders say Obama is vulnerable

They want him to grab ownership of critical issues

As Sen. Barack Obama prepares to accept the Democratic presidential nomination next week, party leaders in battleground states say the fight ahead against Sen. John McCain looks tougher than they imagined, with Obama vulnerable on multiple fronts despite weeks of cross-country and overseas campaigning.

Obama’s strategy for anti-Obama efforts

Some supporters ask if he’s done enough to counter a bestseller.

Reporter Linda Feldmann talks with csmonitor.com’s Pat Murphy about Sen. Barack Obama’s response to published attacks.

Two months ago, Barack Obama decided enough was enough. He had just clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, and a reporter asked him about an Internet rumor of a video showing his wife, Michelle, using a derogatory term for white people. Senator Obama was furious. There is no such video, he insisted, and to this day, none has materialized.

Corsi’s book is anything but fiction. He’s got so many end-notes that have been vetted by his publisher’s lawyers that I am not likely to believe the charges of inacurracies. Simply because Mr. Corsi was associated with the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth shouldn’t discredit his work either. People have claimed that their work was discredited, but that simply isn’t the case.

It seems that a lot of people attack the messenger when their veracity is questioned before finally capitulating and admitting their own lies. Barack Obama’s recent attitude regarding the “infanticide” issue is evidence of this. Jerome Corsi isn’t doing this. Instead he’s pointing to the documentation that sits behind his claims.

Barack Obama is vulnerable, but so is John McCain. I wish he’d quit doing so many stupid things to alienate his own base in an effort to win votes from the left. As long as his opponent has a “D” after his name and he has an “R” after his name, the left isn’t going to vote for him in a national election.

    Hey Perri,
‘It has been described by some as fiction’ was inserted to limit the number of libs who may comment on that. I haven’t had a chance to check it out other than hearing what Hannity had to say about it.

On the election, a common occurence since I started voting (1972), the choices are less than ideal. When Nixon ran for re-election I voted for the other guy, McGovern.

In my defense, if you are under 30 and not a liberal you have no heart. If you are over 30 and not a conservative, you have no brain. I think that statement is credited to Winson Churchill.
