[...] There have been some rumblings of Clinton deciding to pull out of the race and focus on becoming Senate Majority Leader instead. I think she would be more effective and more powerful in that role than Sen. Reid has been (which pains me to say, since I happen to know Sen. Reid personally) — I also think she would be more centrist and pragmatic. On the other hand, former DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe is predicting exactly the opposite, viz., that Clinton will drop out of her Senate run in order to focus on her Presidential race.
As a staunch Republican I hope Hillary won't retire from the race. She's my party's best hope for 2008! With her as the Dem candidate, the Reps will have an easier time in the election.

And Jan,

Give up on the "Bushies" comment. Bush isn't running in 2008 and the Rep candidates are NOT trying to emulate his behavior; they're not stupid. Believe or not, MANY Republicans hate Bush more than you Dems do.

[...] Posted by mesablue on September 4th, 2007 Friends of Hillary hint she may pull out of presidential race Friends of Hillary hint she may pull out of presidential race Sarah Baxter FRIENDS of Hillary Clinton have been whispering the unthinkable. Despite her status as the runaway frontrunner for the 2008 Democratic nomination for president, some of her closest advisers say she might opt out of the White House race and seek to lead her party in the Senate. The former first lady longs to return to the White House with husband Bill as consort. Only last week she told television viewers America would be led by a woman one day. “Stay tuned,” she said. First, however, she has to win the election. Some Democratic party elders — the American equivalent of the Tories’ “men in grey suits” — say Clinton may back out of the race of her own volition.
The article is "still" "valid"????
L.M.F.A.O.

Wanna bet all the millions that Clinton has left in her war chest that's she not thinking of getting out of the race?
Kids, this is actually starting to look downright desperate on your part.

Look how the fur started flying over Mr. Hsu.
Trouble for Loyal Bushies is, Clinton didn't do anything different from what Bush did, accepting and then giving to charity Jack Abramoff's illegal campaign donations.

And I'm guessing that the GOP is hoping that Hsu lands in prison, because otherwise many of those California and Alaskan Republicans are going to be looking like damn corrupt politicians by the time we get the the 2008 elections.
(I also think Senator Lindsay Graham will be probably exposed in a wide stance by November 2008.)

Regarding this:
"It is also interesting that those who support Hillary Rodham Clinton and husband Bill for a return to the White House refer to any suggestion of problems with the couple’s troubled past as nothing more than Hillary Haters. If that is how one rationalizes support for a corrupt duo then this country has more problems than simply being doomed to repeat the history of the nineties."

Corrupt duo?
Is that in the eyes of the beholders, or do you have anything except Clinton Haters' convictions that the Clintons are corrupt?

The "suggestions of problems with the couple's 'troubled past'" come from Clinton Haters!
Why would we pay any attention to doomsday scenarios about Clinton from Clinton Haters?

And "the problems in the 'troubled past'" were all trumped up by Clinton Haters!
(Psst! Only Clinton Haters still concern themselves with Vince Foster's "murder" et cetera)

In addition, as far as any of us fearing a return to the history of the nineties --
Do you think America thinks we're going to the right direction these days?!!?
FACT: At this point in Clinton's presidency, the right direction/wrong direction numbers were the exact OPPOSITE of the current numbers for Bush's Presidency.

Except for the Clinton Haters/Loyal Bushies (one and the same) the majority of Americans relish a return to the history of the nineties!
Or, are you trying to re-write the history of the nineties?

The "Clinton Haters" are not at all how I rationale my support for Senator Clinton, but I do admit watching the Clinton Haters go completely ballistic all over again IS very entertaining.
How'd that impeachment stuff work out for the GOP?
I believe, if I remember correctly, President Clinton's approval ratings sky-rocketed -- and I believe his numbers haven't fallen since.
Keep up the great work!

I rationalize my support for Senator Hillary Clinton because she is brilliant, knows what smart government looks like, has the same priorities that I do, and will be the very first, in a long line of future female Presidents of the United States of America.

Are Republicans going to tell 51% of the electorate that they are stupid for supporting a female candidate?
If so, bring it on.

You know, I could see Mrs Clinton heading up the Democratic party. With her obsession about fighting the right wing, this is the perfect place for her. It makes much more sense than her trying to be President and constantly dividing the nation (and routinely insulting half of it by lumping all of the 'right wing' into a nameless, faceless, souless unit).

Please let this be true so that we don't have to watch her campaign anymore and so that the Dems will nominate someone sensible/electable!!
