McCain concedes skepticism on immigration
John McCain is either confused or is doing what he feels like doing regardless of public opinion. He calls it ‘doing the hard things’. Does that mean doing the hard things is lying to Americans about why you want amnesty for illegals? First of all, Mr McCain, you are the only GOP candidate supporting amnesty. 2nd, you’re wrong again, two out of three Americans favor prosecution and deportation for illegals.
It was your obligation to get the executive branch to enforce immigration laws before 15 or 20 million were allowed into the United States. Just because you allowed it to get this bad does not mean everyone gets amnesty. The ‘hard things’ is admitting you’re wrong and correcting it with the right policy and corrective action.

McCain concedes skepticism on immigration
“With a broken border and an unacceptable situation, it’s our obligation to do the hard things,” McCain said in a conference call with Iowa reporters. “I am more than ever convinced that this is the right solution to a problem which is an unacceptable situation in this country.”
McCain defended his position on the immigration measure, which is deeply unpopular with many GOP conservatives. The proposal would allow a path to citizenship for the roughly 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States.
As part of his presidential campaign, McCain said he would build a case for the immigration compromise, noting that recent polls indicate a majority of Americans support the legislation.
Noting that he was the only GOP candidate backing the measure, McCain sought to shift the onus to his rivals.
