The wrangling continues near Dallas in the Farmers Branch ordinance case. The ordinance seeks to ban landlords from renting to illegal aliens. The attorney for Farmers Branch has several options given to the US District court judge in answer to constitutional objections that caused a two week delay to implement the ban.

The opposing lawyers represent apartment owners and The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund. Here is more proof that illegal immigration is simply about making money. All arguments opposing immigration enforcement and border control are bogus. Which is to say, all those presenting arguments are lying. The closest they come to telling the truth is with the ‘coming here for a better life’ claim. Which really means coming here for a job that pays better than those in Mexico. And let’s not forget that those who entered or stayed illegally who are not from Mexico or points South are glad the focus is on the illegals from Mexico. Illegal immigrants are not just from Mexico.

The money issue is only trumped by the risk taken of terrorists crossing the porous borders. Or perhaps demands to speed the legal applications process for entry to the US will increase errors to allow terrorists in. The classic example of this problem was Mohamed Atta had been dead for six months when his paperwork for entry was approved. These are the real threats we are exposed to with the federal government refusing to take the necessary steps to control immigration and the borders.

And the most common illegal immigration problems are the costs Americans are expected to absorb on behalf of illegals as it is now or with amnesty. The money issue is that everyone involved in illegal immigration is making money and that is the attraction, pure and simple. Illegal immigrants are chasing the jobs, free government benefits and amnesty to make it all permanent. They want legal American citizens to pay for it all. The system simply cannot handle the demand and its failure will damage this nation.

Farmers Branch offers to relax rules

O’Hare said that the city believes the ordinance is constitutional but that the judge could use these alternatives if he finds parts of it to be unconstitutional. He said even if the $500 fines are dropped, the city could pursue people who give false paperwork or false declarations and charge them with fraud.

Boyle said the city also could revoke licenses instead of levying fines.
