How did Denver cheat? Ask the Ref's...

They put the 3 points on the scoreboard, and the game was won. It was over. People started on their way home. But wait! What is this? They’re taking the points off the board! What is happening? The Raiders have to try again. Why? What is the penalty?....

I really enjoyed reading this, and am in full agreement that none of the proposed plans will really fix the root problems of health care in the US.

I'm particularly worried that the politicians don't understand the business aspects of health care. For example, although a US citizen, I live in the UK, where prescription drugs are incredibly cheap. One of the reasons the pharmaceutical companies can provide them for the price they do here in the UK and still have enough profits to invest in R&D for breakthrough medicines is because people/hospitals in the US pay an arm and a leg for prescriptions. Basically, the US is paying a 'hidden tax' for the health care systems of the rest of the world.

If the US starts working in the model of the UK, Canada, or France, what happens to the profits that are needed for research? Or is the US government going to have to subsidise Big Pharma, medical equipment manufacturers, etc, adding to the billions of dollars that a plan like Mrs Clinton's will already require?

They're trying to deal with global companies and global issues on a national level, and I really don't think they understand what will pop out on one end of the system when you push on the other end.
