Ya, you know I take almost every op to bash MS but in this case they were incidental to the larger story.

I suspect this 'expression' of concern from Grassley is the beginning of seeking political cover as DC earns another meaning = detached complicity.

I again urge Washington POLS to use incremental disbursements of any spending for economic recovery intentions.  And not to be measured in trillions.  At least when they make each mistake the damage will be smaller than throwing it all out there at once.  Cutting 700 billion in half is not adequate protection.  Nor is sending out the imcrements one after another.</description>

As for bailouts, the government should never have spent trillions of dollars on them in the first place. Merrill Lynch's remodel only amounted to one millionth of the total cost of the bailout. CITIs new jet to about 4 millionths of the total funds wasted by our Congress.

The execs at the banks may be greedy, but they're pikers compared to our Congress's profligacy.</description>
