If Senator Shelby is taking heat for a story indicating he questions President Obama’s citizenship it may be worth the price of admission. While Shelby is quoted below responding to the report being incomplete and a distortion and the paper standing by their account the story becomes mired in who do you believe? But does that really matter? The larger point is that the MSM never pursued the vast quantity of questions about their chosen candidate. To have one question revived if only for a moment may be worthwhile. The mystery man who is the current US President has successfully dodged inquiries into his past.

Stanford, I’ve spoken with Senator Shelby’s office, Senator Inhofe’s office and the FBI Washington DC office and a local office near my home. I left the following comment , in the comment section, on the Right Pundit article that I wrote and that you so kindly linked to here:
UPDATE: I spoke with Senator Shelby’s office this morning. They confirmed that the quote in the Callman Times is accurate. The controversy about it comes from other comments Shelby made, which were the qualifications for becoming President. It is unclear whether or not Shelby said that he “has no doubt” that Obama met qualifications, after he stated a possible doubt.
Senator Shelby’s office took the time to discuss the issue with me. Their office believes that the FBI does the vetting for the office of President. The woman I spoke to was emphatic about this.
I called the FBI office in Washington D.C. In just a few very polite words I asked to speak to someone who could discuss President Obama’s natural born status. There was silence on the other end. I thought I was disconnected, although there was no indication of that. I called back. The same man answered the phone. He said “we have nothing to do with that.” Then he screamed a few things at me over and over and over and over. I asked for his name. There was again silence. He didn’t hang up. It was spooky to think that this could come out of our FBI.
Then I called my Senator’s office, Jim Inhofe. I’ve had several conversations with them over the months about this issue. I spoke with a Legal Correspondent who was well-versed on the issue. According to her, no one has the jurisdiction to completely vet a presidential candidate. To do this, new legislation is needed.
I made the point that it the job of Congress to uphold the Constitution. She agreed but said that it is not Obama’s place to provide proof, unless we first have proof that he is not legal. I disputed this. Obama has the first duty to the Constitution and then to the people. She agreed to this.
She concluded that Congress has trusted Obama because they have no proof otherwise. It is Senator Inhofe’s assumption that the short form birth certificate on Obama’s website is authentic. She DID NOT realize that the Hawaii short form b/c can be issued to ANY child if a parent requests, within the first year of birth, even if the child was born out the country, let alone the State of Hawaii.
Sigh.

My simply including a link to your report is by no means equivalent to the work you just described. Bravo, Maggie.
It is good to have several public posts and/or commentary on your efforts to aid others or encourage them to do likewise. The more inquiries there are the better the chance of bringing this to the rightful conclusion. You know, open and transparent government like THE ONE claims he favors, supports and will honor while in office. Ya, right.
So now this means I have to follow your lead and make inquiries.
Great work and thanks for providing the update on my humble blog.

Maggie, I submitted some comments on your post on this topic at Right Pundits. Somewhere near the 60th. (57 & 58?) With the mixture of Obama faithful and truth seekers offering opinions it seemed only right to throw in my two cents.
For anyone else reading this and curious, follow the first link in this post.
I suppose I just made up my mind to help Philip Berg and post his press release here from Feb 13. That will pop up here later. He says he can use the help passing the word since the MSM won’t. And while listening to the radio last night, Michael Savage had him on a broadcast again. One can only hope the Shelby story and your post, Maggie, will help give this story some long overdue legs.
