Someone had mentioned the approval rating as of a few months ago was the lowest in a decade or two. Not much of a surprise there but the President's ability to sustain vetoes indicates the GOP defections have ceased.

Some of Pelosi's statements from the session start are worth reviewing. The culture of corruption is alive and well, Nancy has done nothing to fix it. Her failure to make good on transparency is highlighted by her party's most notorious Presidential candidate and the refusal to let her 'First Lady' docs see the light of day until after the election. Obviously cases like the Jefferson 90K in a freezer suggest Pelosi has not drained the swamp. Fortunately, she has not succeeded in appeasing the far left kook antiwar fringe who look even more ridiculous with the current success in Iraq.

The Democrats didn't get anything done because they tried and tried to get a withdraw date for the soldiers in Iraq. Over 60 times they tried this and lost every time. IT wouldn't have mattered anyway, it is unconstitutional for them to dictate what goes on in a war. They can only control the purse strings for a war, not the tactic, that is the President's job. Congress is getting slammed from both the right and left. From the right because they are trying to hand over Iraq to the Iranians or Islamofascists, and from the Left because they could not get our troops out of Iraq.
This has got ot be one of the worst Congressional session ever.
