Women in Politics: Sen. Feinstein’s Patriotism
Another fine piece of legislation from Senator Diane Feinstein displaying her patriotism and support for the troops. A bit of a surprise coming from a Senator married to a defense contractor and listed as one of the most wealthy members of Congress along with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
7. S.J.RES.3 : A joint resolution to specify an expiration date for the authorization of use of military force under the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 and to authorize the continuing presence of United States forces in Iraq after that date for certain military operations and activities.
Sponsor: Sen Feinstein, Dianne [CA] (introduced 2/17/2007) Cosponsors (None)
Committees: Senate Foreign Relations
Latest Major Action: 2/17/2007 Referred to Senate committee. Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations.
This is unnecessary legislation as the default date for ending the use of military force is the day the mission is complete and victory is in hand and not before. That default date typically eomes earlier in direct proportion to the amount of support the troops receive from the public and their government. If said support is absent or lacking the net effect is aid and comfort to the enemy.
